Lead, succeed, survive and thrive

In the build-up to the 2024 European elections, FNF was more committed than ever to supporting liberal female political leaders actively engaged in shaping the future of Europe. Through “Alliance of Her”, a cooperation project between FNF Europe, ALDE Party, and ELF, the partners seek to ensure that liberal women in politics achieve their political goals.

This year’s Alliance of Her "Spring" Masterclass, held at FNF in Potsdam, Germany, was designed to support liberal women within and beyond FNF’s network to lead, succeed, survive and thrive in political life. Through a series of training sessions, participants refined their political strategies, deepened their knowledge of essential techniques and identified ways to overcome gender-based obstacles. The session also emphasized community building among participants, including notable female leaders like MEP Svenja Hahn and MEP Ana Dónath, who ran for re-election in 2024. Attendees had the chance to meet and converse with guest speakers, such as Martin Burgr from Progressive Slovakia. Throughout the training, participants learned valuable steps to take before elections, e.g. how to prepare for the next phase of their political journey and the effective use of communication tools for outreach and campaigning strategies. The sessions also offered insights and best practices for female political leaders on managing the daily pressures of political office.

The training sessions provided the time and space for participants to build a supportive community, helping them pursue their goals – be it running for positions in the national and European Parliament or choosing to take on supportive roles within their parties. Like previous sessions, this Masterclass offered support and inspiration to a selected group of promising liberal women, creating an empowering and informative space for participants. Even after the 2024 elections, this mission remains to ensure female candidates are fully equipped to lead, succeed, survive and thrive.
