Education in Shrinking Democratic Spaces

Polska Foundation organized three democracy workshops in Warsaw, Olsztyn and Katowice that were geared towards educators from Poland, Ukraine and Moldova. Among the participants were psychologists, educators, trainers, teachers, pedagogues and therapists. The focus of the project was to examine education in spaces with a shrinking democracy.
The participants discussed minority rights in Central and Eastern Europe as well as diversity, equality education, inclusive language, and sex education. The workshops also provided an opportunity to share best practices in human rights education. At the end, participants had not only acquired new knowledge. They also left with a strengthened network amongst them.
Polska Foundation is a liberal think tank in Poland with a significant influence on domestic political discussion, especially among the young generation. It is a member of the 4liberty.eu Network and the European Liberal Forum.
